Flying Tiger Coming To Manchester’s Trafford Centre

Danish retailer continues to expand in the UK, hot on the heels of opening its 1000th store in Australia in December 2024.

Founded nearly three decades ago – initially as a surplus goods store – Flying Tiger Copenhagen has grown into a globally design-led variety retailer. Known for its playful and distinctive products, the brand has consistently brought Danish creativity to the everyday lives of customers across 39 markets.

The store in Manchester’s Trafford Centre will open in February and will be the 81st shop in the UK. Back in December 2024, the company celebrated opening its 1000th store, marking an extraordinary journey that began in 1995.

Martin Jermiin, ceo of Flying Tiger Copenhagen, said: “This milestone is a moment of pride for all of us at Flying Tiger Copenhagen. As we celebrate the opening of our 1000th store in Sydney, we reflect on the incredible journey Flying Tiger Copenhagen has taken – from a small shop in Copenhagen to becoming a global brand that has the privilege of welcoming around 100 million customers a year.”

When being asked about the reason for the brands development and diligence in a highly competitive retail market, Martin said: “We have remained authentic to our origins to offer playful, affordable products, while still developing and making the necessary adjustments. We believe in making the ordinary extraordinary, offering affordable products designed with a playful, sustainable ethos. This milestone is a testament to our belief that ‘a richer life doesn’t cost a fortune,’ and we are both proud and thankful to be able to spread this message across continents and cultures.”

The Sydney shop is the brand’s first store in Australia. Looking ahead, Flying Tiger Copenhagen has ambitious plans for into Singapore and Malaysia.
