PG Live Is A Success For Indie Retailers

The world’s largest greeting card trade show wrapped up for business at the end of Wednesday (June 5) afternoon and what a show it was! Here’s a few highlights that retailers are sharing on their social accounts.

Michael Apter, owner of three Paper Tiger stores in Edinburgh shared his round-up of the show on Lindkedin: “A high speed, high impact dash around Progressive Greetings Live yesterday at the Business Design Centre, racking up a stack of orders with suppliers old and new. PG Live is a great opportunity to catch up with the greetings card community that help to make Paper Tiger a success, and trade fairs are an invaluable way to keep abreast of the market, learn about future plans, and make sure we bring the best designs to our customers.”

“Pure dynamite!” was how Sean Austin, owner of Austin & Co in Malvern described the show. “It’s no exaggeration that I could visit all 220 exhibitors at PG Live and fill my shop 10 times over. It’s not called the world’s greatest greeting card show for nothing,” he wrote on Instagram. “This year my job of selecting for our little card shop in Malvern was made so difficult and that’s a credit to all of the publishers who attended. Those who I didn’t get around to seeing, you have by no means been forgotten. To those new suppliers, welcome to Austin & Co. Enjoy the ride!”

Sarah Laker, owner of Stationery Supplies in Marple and Wilmslow told her followers: “Well, PG Live you were immense! With over 200 stands to visit, the choice is unbelievable, and so hard to know what to buy from where. I think I placed around 15 orders, but I can’t remember what I ordered now so it’ll be a nice surprise for us all when it starts arriving. Loved spending my Sunshine and Silver tickets with Objectables Publishing,  Laura Darrington Design and Running With Scissors.”
