Ryman Design Opens First Scottish Store In Edinburgh

The store is the latest addition to a growing number of Ryman Design stores across the UK, following the opening of the London Bishopsgate in June 2023, and London Marble Arch and Birmingham Grand Central stores later last year.

Ryman Design stores are a design specialist offshoot of leading high-street stationer Ryman, providing customers with unique, trend-led stationery, gifts and cards.

The stores offer various stationery products from leading brands such as Ban.do, Kate Spade, POSCA, Legami, Violet Studios / Crafters Companion and Midori.

Theo Paphitis, owner and chairman at Ryman, said: “I’m delighted to be opening our first-ever Scottish Ryman Design store in Edinburgh and building on the brand’s presence in key locations around the UK.

“Creativity runs through Edinburgh’s veins, which is why opening our new design-led store, full of unique, design-led stationery, gifts, and cards was a no-brainer for me. This will be our fourth Ryman Design store, and because of the fantastic response they’ve had from our customers, there are more in the pipeline.”

Located in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter, the store is a one-stop shop for stationery enthusiasts and professionals looking for unique, high-quality products.

The leading stationery brand has grown confidently into the market over the past year and is taking valuable learnings into the rest of the estate, after the successful launches of the first three Ryman Design stores.

Theo spoke to a packed crowd at London Stationery Show two weeks ago, telling the audience that “you must have a reason to exist in business. Once brands lose the reason to exist, that’s when they disappear. We’ve had to change with the times. We’ve had to change our product mix and the way we do business.

“We’ve moved more into fashion-led stationery. Covid accelerated the merge of home and office with lots more people working from home. They don’t want boring stationery. They want something a lot more interesting. We’ve tapped into this with our new Ryman Design branded stores.”
